King & Country WH067 Bergepanther: The Panther Chassis Put to Recovery Work

Heavy vehicles created a recovery problem

The archived description explains the Bergepanther as a response to the difficulty of recovering damaged heavy armour. Its Panther-derived chassis put substantial tracked machinery into that support role.

The historical collecting point is straightforward: an armoured force needed ways to retrieve and repair vehicles as well as ways to fight with them. A recovery model makes that usually less visible work part of the shelf.

Separate repair figures expand the scene

WH068 supplies a tank-repair commander, and WH069 the two-man repair crew. They are useful companions with their own release codes.

Keeping those boundaries in the catalog prevents a photograph of a larger workshop scene from being mistaken for the contents of the vehicle box.

Why the recovery vehicle belongs

The WH range includes support, medical and transport subjects alongside combat equipment. WH067 is an especially substantial example of that wider approach.

It offers a different way to look at a familiar chassis: as machinery intended to keep other machinery moving. The recovery fittings deserve careful comparison when identifying a used example.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WH067 product record lists a release date of October 2016 and a retirement date of September 2021. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
