King & Country DD061 Beach Under Fire: The Medic at the Centre of the Rangers

A beach scene includes care as well as assault

The release’s title connects the figures with fighting on the beach. It does not name the medic or establish a particular casualty’s story, so the catalog treats them as representative subjects.

The DD series overview gives the wider invasion context. This group adds the immediate human consequences to that account.

Keep the lower group visible

A slightly elevated viewpoint is especially useful. From too low an angle, the kneeling figures can hide the wounded man and make the group’s main subject difficult to see.

The standing rifleman can sit slightly apart, giving the two activities room to remain readable. Large scenery is unnecessary because the figures already explain the scene.

Why it belongs with the Ranger releases

DD061 broadens the collection beyond firing and advancing poses. It also provides a distinct medical group that should not be broken into anonymous figures in a mixed infantry lot.

For completeness, compare all four men and their relationship to the casualty with the reference photo. The medic and patient are the focus, but the observer and covering figure are part of the original composition too.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD061 product record lists a release date of July 2005 and a retirement date of January 2008. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
