The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS028

WS028 shows four surrendering German soldiers. Raised hands, differing postures and a visible arm support give the group a very different meaning from the nearby patrol and attacking sets.

A change of status in four poses

The archived record identifies four prisoners of war. The saved photograph shows the men with their arms raised in different ways, while one figure carries an injured arm.

The variation keeps the surrender scene from looking like four copies of one gesture. It also provides useful clues for identifying the original group when the figures are separated.

After the fighting

A prisoner group gives a collection a way to show the consequences of an encounter rather than only its combat phase. The figures suggest capture, injury and uncertainty without establishing a named event.

The wider wartime setting is covered in the WS historical overview. This catalog entry keeps the miniature’s representative subject separate from a claim about particular individuals.

Leave the gestures readable

The raised arms extend beyond the figures’ central outlines. Give them enough space that the hands do not overlap neighbouring helmets or tall scenery.

An escort may be added from another release, but it is not included simply because the figures are described as prisoners. The four-man group is the recorded subject here.

A useful counterpart to the action sets

WS028 broadens the range’s narrative and prevents the catalog from presenting military history only as continuous attack. Its distinct poses and casualty detail are worth preserving.

When checking a used example, compare all four figures and the projecting hands with the reference image. Those small details carry much of the meaning of the set.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS028 product record lists a retirement date of May 2004. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
