The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS015

WS015 records an early Tiger release associated in its catalog title with Michael Wittmann. The saved photograph concentrates on the tank, showing turret number 205 and the broad, angular hull beneath it.

Separate the photographed vehicle from the full title

The archived listing names the tank with Wittmann, but the reference image does not clearly show the named figure. That limitation matters when checking a supposedly complete secondhand example.

Use the picture to compare the vehicle’s visible features, and establish the accompanying figure separately. A tank number alone does not prove which miniature personality is included.

A famous name needs historical context

Wittmann served in the Waffen-SS, whose wartime history is addressed in the WS series overview. A collecting title should not turn a named soldier into an uncritical hero story or substitute a tally of claimed victories for historical explanation.

Here the useful focus is the documented release: its name, vehicle appearance and the contents a collector needs to distinguish.

Compare early Tigers carefully

The series includes other Tiger models with different markings and crew arrangements. Look at the turret number, camouflage, visible fittings and figure complement together.

The tank’s broad surfaces make differences in finish easy to notice, but lighting can alter colour substantially. Photographs around both sides are more informative than a single dramatic angle.

Why WS015 remains a separate entry

The code preserves a specific early combination within a much larger Tiger collection. Keeping the limits of the reference image explicit helps collectors use the entry without confusing the pictured vehicle with proof of every part originally supplied.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS015 product record identifies this release but leaves its release and retirement dates blank. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
