The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD041

DD041 places an American military policeman astride a motorcycle. The MP markings and the motorcycle’s luggage give the scene a clear support role, with the rider paused rather than speeding through a dramatic encounter.

A catalog description worth checking against the picture

The archived product title identifies the motorcycle subject, matching the saved reference image. Its short body description instead discusses a standing MP, so the title and photograph are the useful identification evidence here.

The standing MP is separately catalogued as DD042. Keeping the two entries distinct avoids passing that old description mismatch into a new collection record.

Roads needed organization

A military-police subject brings traffic and movement into the display. Once troops and vehicles were ashore, the roads connecting them mattered as much as the beach itself.

The D-Day series overview includes those support roles alongside infantry and armour. DD041 can suggest a halt, junction or controlled movement without requiring an invented named incident.

A motorcycle rewards a side view

The wheel arrangement, luggage and rider’s position are easier to compare from an angle than head-on. Give the model a little open ground so the MP markings and the vehicle’s outline remain visible.

A nearby truck or walking figure can supply scale, but the motorcycle is sufficiently distinct to stand as a small scene by itself.

Why this particular MP belongs

DD041 broadens the catalogue of Allied activity and gives a clear vehicle-based counterpart to the standing police figure. In a secondhand listing, compare the complete motorcycle, rider and visible fittings with the reference. A title that says only “MP” can refer to either release and is not enough to establish which one is being offered.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD041 product record lists July 2003 as the release date and December 2008 as the retirement date. Those are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
