The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD049
DD049 is a compact supply scene with several layers: the Dodge weapons carrier, two airborne figures, a removable load and a water trailer. The little tanker behind the truck gives the combination a purpose beyond simply carrying another gun.
Keep the full contents in view
The archived description specifies a driver, an additional paratrooper, ammunition and supplies that can be removed, and the water trailer. It places the vehicle and figures in 101st Airborne markings.
The reference image shows the long combination and the standing figure beside it. A seller’s close-up of the front of the Dodge could omit a substantial part of this release.
Water is part of the campaign story
Army transport carried the necessities that allowed men to remain in the field. A water trailer makes that ordinary requirement visible in a miniature collection, alongside the ammunition and equipment more commonly noticed.
The DD series overview includes these support subjects within the Allied campaign. The airborne markings connect this particular combination with the troop figures elsewhere in the range.
Two versions of the same display
The removable load gives a collector a choice between showing a stocked carrier and a vehicle with more of its cargo space exposed. Keep the original load identified even if it is displayed beside the vehicle.
The trailer needs room behind the Dodge, while the separate paratrooper benefits from space at the side. Together they make a small roadside scene without additional buildings.
The collecting interest is in the combination
DD049 deserves more than a generic truck entry. Its figures, removable supplies and water trailer are the details that distinguish the set and the parts to compare carefully when an example is offered without its original packing.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD049 product record lists June 2004 as the release date and September 2007 as the retirement date. Those are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
